Qualities of Good Writing

The piece of writing that has had the biggest impact on my life is the Social Contract Theory by John Locke. In my high school Western Civilization class, every student was assigned a piece of writing from history. Mine happened to be the Social Contract Theory, something that I had little prior knowledge about. The part of the writing that was so impressive was how Locke argues for the theory, using pathos, logos, and ethos. The Social Contract theory impacted me by causing me to reevaluate my moral system, simply because of the well-constructed arguments. Because it was over a year ago, I can't quite remember the stylistic traits of the literature, but I remember that the strong arguments paired with quality writing makes a legendary piece of literature.
